I finally took the leap and flew to Southeast Arizona for three days. I relied on feedback from other travelers and pilot friends and decided that it would be safe to fly on Alaska Airlines. I wish I had decided to go earlier as there were some great birds there that were no longer being reported when I went. But there were some great temptations as I hoped to find two ABA Lifers: Eared Quetzal and Ruddy Ground Dove and also get a Lifer Photo of a Northern Jacana which I had seen but not photographed at Manor Lake in Texas more than 42 years ago. This is the first of three blog posts recounting the visit.
