Dear Tweeters,

On Monday the ninth there was a goodly flock of Trumpeter Swans at Harts Slough Fields, barely S of Sedro-Woolley along SR9. This morning when I was viewing photos of Greater White-fronted Geese from that visit, I was surprised to see a huge amount of yellow on one swan's bill. Joel Brady-Power and I have been out in Skagit today, separately checking Swan flicks. The photos can be viewed under GWFG on eBird (site is public hotspot, albeit along a highway with ferocious traffic). Luckily there are some decent pullouts.

There were no Tundra Swans in the flock, so I did not lean toward possibility that the bird was a Bewick's.

Yours truly,

Gary Bletsch
