This afternoon about 3:00 p.m. I looked outside, where it was still raining heavily, and saw 3 house finches sitting on one kitchen window sill and 2 others sitting on the sill at a different window. They were moving very little, although one was pecking at the brick sill a bit. One stared at me through the window. There were also 4 finches sitting on the clothes line that is under the covered patio. I have never noticed birds doing this in the past. Many other birds, including more finches, that were at the bird feeders.
