Mike, we have seen Pine Siskins ground feeding in the mountains, usually in
the subalpine zone (they seem to like Subalpine Firs) and occasionally in
the montane (forest meadow edges). They are opportunistic feeders. We have
observed Siskins gleaning invertebrates.
