Hi Tweets,
I did some birding in the Stanwood area today, and saw a RUSTY BLACKBIRD, female, in a big flock of 400 plus Brewers Blackbirds and European Starlings near 2305 Norman Road just west of Silvana and Pioneer Highway at a large dairy farm on the north side of the road. I had nice looks, but no photo as the bird was actively feeding in the driveway adjacent to the barn. A nice rufous cap, light supercilium, bright yellow eye, and rufous-brown head, breast and back. Hopefully it will stick around, plenty of food and other blackbirds (Brown-headed Cowbird and Red-winged Blackbird in the mix as well).
Happy solo birding,
