Hi Gary,

Indeed, eBird appears to be back and fully functional, sooner than
expected. I think the database was just migrating to a new platform. The
update didn't have anything to do with a taxonomic update, and so the crows
won't be lumped until that happens. Taxonomic updates usually happen
around August (and don't require taking the database offline), but other
priorities delayed the 2020 update, and I don't recall when exactly it is
expected to happen.

Good eBirding,

Dear Tweeters,

It came as a surprise to me when I heard that eBird was up and
running, a day earlier than expected. I logged on just now and
searched for a map of Northwestern Crow observations. I got the same
old map that I would have gotten a week ago. So, is eBird really up
and running? I doubt it, since the crow lump is not in evidence.

Yours truly,

Gary Bletsch
