This looks like a Cassiar's with the slight brownish wash on the body and what looks a convex shape (U shaped) to the bib. A Slate-colored would have a concave bib like an upside down letter U. The name Cassiar comes from the Canadian mountain range where this form breeds, it is thought to be a stable hybrid between the Oregon and the Slate-colored subspecies and they vary widely in appearance. In the Sibley bird guide see the illustrations of what they call the Canadian Rocky Mountain form. I have had both of these forms at our feeders in Skamania County along with the Oregon and one White-winged Junco. Wilson Cady

Hi, Tweets! Hoping to hear any thoughts on who the Dark-eyed Junco I saw in my yard the past week, is (i.e., subspecies, intergrade, etc??). Very monotone compared to the usual ones in the yard (and the area) and so it really caught my eye.
