The past several summers have made us in the Pacific Northwest all too
aware of how unhealthy air pollution, including wildfire smoke, is for
people. But how are birds impacted by air pollution, and how might they
respond to changes in air quality? To find out, please join us for a
timely talk by Olivia Sanderfoot, a National Science Foundation Graduate
Research Fellow who is currently completing her Ph.D. at the UW in the
Quantitative Ecology Lab. Olivia's doctoral research is focused on
characterizing the impacts of acute and chronic exposure to particle
pollution from a variety of sources, including wildfires, on bird
communities.
