Yesterday was a still on Deer Lagoon, Whidbey Island, and so hundred's of
wigeons, pintails, buffleheads, gadwalls, and lesser scaups. Seasonal
newcomers are about 100 brant and several white-winged scoters mixed in
with surf scoters at the mouth of the estuary. Other less common birds
included a northern shrike and common goldeneye.
