Subject: [Tweeters] Christmas Bird Counts this year

That change would be fine with me. I think it might need to be driven from the national level though. I know it's been an annual event since 1900. Here's a short history https://www.audubon.org/conservation/history-christmas-bird-count . A quick Google query didn't find any mention of proposals to change the name, which surprises me. Maybe there's a fear such change might be caught up in the "War on Christmas" pseudo-controversy?

For the past several years, Jim Danzenbaker has been the volunteer gathering this information, so thanks to Jim for this valuable service.
