Subject: [Tweeters] christmas bird counts this year

I'm not religious. My Dad believed we lived on through our children. I'm 71, and I'm still not convinced if there is a "life hereafter". Far from it. But I enjoy Christmas music, Christmas decorations the Christmas season, Christmas trees and especially Christmas cookies!

It IS the Christmas season! It has been for all of my 71 years and for 2000+ years before that. What is wrong with that?

I haven't been in church, except for a wedding, for nearly 50 years. I seem to remember going a Christmas service in Tacoma (for the music) when I was stationed at Ft Lewis about 1973 or so.

This is the holiday for christians. Let them have their holiday and share it with them. Why do you choose to take it away from those that believe? Share in their holiday and watch it from the outside.

ENJOY WATCHING THEIR JOY! Why try to take over their holiday by usurping what they call it, or what tweeters has called it for years?

We are all different. What is important is finding common ground, not trying to deny their religion or season.

Sure glad we don't have a Lent or Easter Bird Count!

>>> Dear Tweeters - As many of you know, every year, WOS gathers information about the 45+ Christmas Bird Counts around the state and publishes that information on the WOS web site. For the past several years, Jim Danzenbaker has been the volunteer gathering this information, so thanks to Jim for this valuable service.

>>>

>>> Jim is close to finishing up this year's list and WOS will publish this information as soon as it is available. Jim says most CBCs ARE happening this year; only a handful have been cancelled.

>>> The URL for WOS's CBC page is: https://wos.org/cbc/

>>> Or you can just go to the WOS home page at https://wos.org and look under the Activities menu.
