One thing that comes to mind, is, in another 100 years, will the new name chosen this year be considered offensive to some and a new discussion of change ensues?
Another thought, should the name change, it would for decades always be referenced as formerly called "Christmas Bird Count".
One more observation, isn't Solstice also tied with religion?
I would rather it stay as it was historically called. But that's just me.
