I've lived in Shoreline about the same amount of time. There used to be
quail in the Highlands community of Shoreline but I haven't seen any for 20
years. I know there are groups here and there, including Lynnwood.

If it was only heard, it might be a starling. I've had a starling do all
manner of calls, including chi-CA-go

Could have sworn I heard California Quail this morning. I've lived here
27 years and have never seen or heard them here. Hundreds of times on
San Juan Island, and outlying areas, but never here.
