On Saturday October 10, Skagit Audubon Society conducted a Big Sit at
Wiley Slough (Skagit Wildlife Area - Headquarters Unit). From dawn to dusk
an enthusiastic group of Skagit Audubon Society members saw/heard 60
species (listed below) from a 17' count circle located at the intersection
of the West Dike and Spur Dike trails. It just goes to show that with
enough time, and keen observation, a single location can yield a
respectable list. The SAS Big Sit was just one of many conducted over the
weekend nationally, and internationally.
