Subject: [Tweeters] Snowy Owl

I'd like to talk privately with the people who are reporting the Snowy Owl
in Burien if possible. I run the Raptor Strike Avoidance Program at Sea-Tac
Airport (SEA) near Burien.

Unfortunately runways attract Snowies like a magnet, presumably because the
airfield mimics open tundra in some ways.

If there is a Snowy in Burien, I would expect it will show up at SEA.

The problem is that Snowies are known to be very susceptible to aircraft
collisions, especially the new, naive arrivals.

Obviously, none of us want to see that happen.

I have alerted everyone on the Wildlife Team at SEA as well as the airport
duty manager to be on the lookout for this bird.

Should it arrive, our team is ready to capture and safely relocate it as
soon as it shows up.

So we would really appreciate being kept in the loop about this bird, if
possible.

Confidentiality and discretion are assured.

Thanks,

Bud Anderson
