Tweets -; An interesting day at Marymoor. Warm (51-60) and overcast. The only rain (minor) was before dawn. Not very birdy, really, but many eyes can sometimes make for many birds. To manage Social Distancing better, we split into two groups traveling in opposite directions. Luckily, we met at the Lake Platform at just the right time. Pretty much everyone got to see the best bird of the day, the park's first LONG-TAILED DUCK, which flew right past the Lake Platform heading downstream, while our two groups were together! Of course, there were several other species seen by only one of the two groups.

Highlights:
a.. Snow Goose -; High flock of about 40 heading south
b.. American Wigeon -; one with Gadwall in the slough
c.. Green-winged Teal -; five at the Rowing Club, south pond
d.. LONG-TAILED DUCK -; looked to be a young male. PARK FIRST. Flying down the slough; might have been heading to Lake Washington
e.. Hooded Merganser -; five at the Rowing Club, north pond
f.. Mourning Dove -; Toby saw one, East Meadow, after the walk
g.. Western Screech-Owl -; one seen my Matt and the pre-dawn owlers was surprisingly the only owl
h.. Hairy Woodpecker -; one in the East Meadow
i.. Merlin -; one
j.. Northern Shrike -; adult -; First of Fall (FOF)
k.. Golden-crowned Kinglet -; we kept seeing small flocks of them all around the park
l.. Varied Thrush -; one along slough, FOF
m.. Cedar Waxwing -; decent-sized flock, SE corner of East Meadow
n.. American Pipit -; one, flyover
o.. Pine Siskin -; abundant
p.. Savannah Sparrow -; one, East Meadow
q.. White-throated Sparrow -; two, East Meadow
I did a late scoping of the lake that was extraordinarily productive:
a.. Northern Shoveler -; one female, FOF
b.. Bufflehead -; I counted 10; we'd had one on the main walk
c.. Common Goldeneye -; one, FOF, and our earliest fall record ever
d.. RUDDY DUCK -; three, First for 2020, first since 2017
e.. Horned Grebe -; two
f.. Western Grebe -; one
g.. Common Loon -; one
For mammals, the early crew had a Virginia Opossum (live), and several BATS -; the latest fall sighting of bats we've had

Missing species today included Mew Gull, Bushtit, Western Meadowlark, and Yellow-rumped Warbler

For the day, consolidating everyone's lists, 71 species!
