Hi Tweets,
spent the last two mornings trying to relocate Elegant Tern previously reported west of the Astoria Bridge along the mouth of the Columbia. Finally heard several "keerick" calls from Fort Columbia State Park Sunday morning 9/13 in the thick smog. I wish it had been clearer to see the terns. I checked out the newly renovated Tarlatt Unit of the south Willapa Bay NWR. This is a very easy access to some very nice tidal mud flats with good numbers of BBPL, SPPL, Peeps, AMPI, SAVANNAH Sparrow and LALO. I'd recommend you take Bear Spray, but it is easy in and out with 1/4 mile walk off 95th.
Stay safe and happy birding,
Shep
