Hi,

My husband and I were returning to our car after a walk around Tipsoo Lake at MRNP. As we began to open doors, a Ruffed grouse walked towards us. I was reaching for the camera, and the grouse just kept coming and went beneath the car. There she "sat" and began to preen. This bird did not want to leave. Eventually we persuaded her, but she didn't go far, walking to the rock barrier at the parking lot and giving us what I would call an indignant glare, if a grouse can do that! I took several photos, but needless to say, we were surprised at the encounter.
