Hi, every single photo has location and date in the description. Some of the "important" ones have actual GPS coordinates. Perhaps you were viewing on a cell phone (not advised) or simply didn't investigate deeply enough.
I opt not to utilize scientific names at this point, perhaps when I have more time in the upcoming months.
H. grunus and C. nastes are 2 examples of butterflies that have not been documented recently on the state database which is maintained by Jonathan Pelham. Here are the past few documented C. nastes in our state:

Little Horseshoe Creek, headwater, 7120'-7200', 11/Aug/1984, Merrill A. Peterson, James P. Pearson 3♂

Armstrong Mountain, 8000'-8106' 11/Aug/1984, Merrill A. Peterson, James P. Pearson 1♂ [unnamed peak]

Horseshoe Mountain, Sunny Camp, meadow above, 7000'-7200' 23-24/Aug/2002, Robert E. Hardwick

Horseshoe Basin, 27/Jul/2002 1♂ 1 OSAC

Corral Lake, 7152'-7200' 10/Aug/, Ray B. Nagle

If you have any information regarding recent documentable encounters with either of those species, I'm sure Jonathan would be very pleased to get his hands on the data.
Keith

Hi.

Nice pix. However you fail to state where and when the photos of the Leps were taken, thus no scientific data. Also, scientific names are much preferred over English naMes. With regard to your statement regarding your assertion that some of these butterflies have not been documented in Washington in years or decades, I, for one, would like to know to which species you're referring. As far as I can see, all of them have been well documented in our state. Please advise. Thank you.
