Dear Tweeters,
Two days ago, there were three California Scrub Jays at a feeder in Lyman. This morning (24th September), a neighbor had one at his feeder, about a mile north of my place (between Lyman and Hamilton in Skagit County). Before I could don my raincoat and go out to fill the suet feeders, three California Scrub Jays came zooming in to my sunflower seed feeders!
In other yard-bird news, last night at 0343, as I was trying to sleep, I heard one or more Cackling Geese flying over. That was the first I'd seen or heard of the species in Skagit since January--they have not been as numerous as usual around here this year.
Yours truly,
Gary Bletsch
