Hey Tweets...I saw my first southbound (sort-of southeast-bound actually)
skein of Greater White-fronted geese, maybe 60 birds. I was at Hogan's
Corner, where SR 115 heads south from SR 109, with breezy but sunny
conditions at 2:45pm today/Thurs.
Why am I always caught off guard by this first-of-fall flock?
So you may know by now National Audubon sent out a note giving us the
choice of holding a "safe" (as we can get it) Christmas Bird Count this
year or choosing to skip this year. I sent out an email asking those in the
Grays Harbor count for their vote. I have received several positive
responses and will continue to proceed as though we are a "go".
