Eric Ellingson wrote asking for advice on places to find 'eastern' birds
that can't be seen on the west side and that can be found with a
reasonable effort.
This is my periodic reminder that A Birder's Guide to Washington, Second
Edition, is available free online. It's a 613-page book of the best
places to look for the state's birds, with descriptions of the habitat,
likely species, directions for getting there, maps, etc. Scores of WOS
members authored or ground-truthed this guide or contributed information.
Also, if you go somewhere and find changes, please go onto the website
and report on the changes. It will help to keep the guide current and
it's very easy to do. Type in your email address, your comment and hit
the "Post" button and you are done.
