Greetings Tweets,

I was pleased to find a couple of first winter West Taiga white-crowned
sparrows in my yard this morning. At first I couldn't quite tell what they
were. My closest guess was WC, but these had brown, not black on their
heads. Perhaps it was their nonbreeding plumage. Well, of course, after
looking them up I found that they were indeed WCs. The bright orange bill
is a good identifier. I hope they stick around. I rarely get them in my
yard. I was able to photograph one with a Golden-Crowned also. It's been my
fantasy to get four or five different sparrows in one shot! I do get Fox,
Song, Golden-Crowned, House and once in a while White-Crowned, so, one can
dream, right?

LOL.
