Sometimes a destination is all one needs to head in a different direction.
This was my 2nd attempt, half-heartedly to look for what would be a life bird.

I'm like 90% sure the photo I took today is of a Yellow-billed Loon.
However, when one is searching for something specific I've learned from experience, it is easy to make one's pursuit into what one wants to see.
Thus, your feedback most appreciated. I usually don't post such crappy shots but this is all I got. Cropped from a 200% viewing.
I do have more angles/shots, and possibly from 2-3 others who saw this with me.
