Subject: [Tweeters] Turtle Doves being wiped out

Turtle Doves along the Mediterranean have been declining steeply and have been upgraded to Globally Threatened by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. At the same time, the Italians have granted licenses to shoot up to 7.5 million, out of a population estimated to be between 3 and 11 million on the continent.
