A somewhat uncommon bird for the Puget Sound Lowlands showed up in our yard today. The Townsend's Solitaire sat for a very long period (5-6 minutes) on a railing, then jumped up to nab a few pyracantha berries, then back to the railing. It didn't sing, so I didn't get a chance to hear its lovely song. First record for our yard.
