I was surprised and delighted to see a single Downy woodpecker at our suet feeder yesterday afternoon. First one I've seen a a long time. At the same time there were several pine siskins at the bird feeder, one Bewick's wren, some chickadees and a spotted towhee near by.

During the morning we had had our usual visits from 4 Stellar's Jays and two scrub jays. They all come for roasted peanuts nearly daily,
