Dear Rachel and Tweets, the crows stage here before heading over to the UW Bothell campus to roost for the night. As I understand it, this gigantic flock of crows is the same flock that used to roost on Foster Island years ago. That flock split into two: half went to a new roost in the Renton area; half went to the new roost in Bothell. The flock has continued to grow. In the winter, you can see a river of crows heading north and east in the late afternoon, coming from all over the city, stopping to preen, feed, and I guess gossip at Magnuson for a little while before heading out. - Connie
