It is not recommended to put out dryer lint. It contains chemicals and it's abrasive. The best thing is to go snap off a few cattails 🙂 They use that right up and will love you for it. They also of course sell some fluff at Wild Birds Unlimited.

So would synthetics work better? I know cotton is not recommended for human outdoor gear because it holds onto water. Maybe the same thing for hummingbirds?
