Thanks, Dan. That's very neat. We should note that great numbers of Bar-tailed Godwits every year fly directly from Alaska to New Zealand, so there are probably lots of birds in the same category as this one.

Also note that the first still photo of a flying bird coming toward you is a Black-tailed Godwit.
