Hi Tweeters,

Last week we spent a morning wandering along roads just south of
the Canadian border in Okanogan County. At one lake there, a shallow lake
northeast of Beaver Lake we found a pair of adult loons. We had been hoping
to see chicks, but saw none. While we paused there to eat lunch, however,
we got to hear a loon singing, and then watched while one of the loons
decided to scare away an American Coot. Finally we saw that there were
chicks. Anyway, I already posted these pictures on Facebook, Western
Washington Birder. Viewers liked them so much I decided to post them here.
