Hi Marcia- Very interesting observation. Perhaps these are cherry pits
from wild or domesticated cherry trees. Typically the birds swallow the
entire cherry, later spitting up the pit. If so, you'll be growing cherry
trees, but they may need stratification before they sprout. Bob OBrien
