I've created a WhatsApp group for the birders of Washington. My idea behind it is to connect Washington birders so that we can share our collective knowledge, share photos/recordings, ask questions, get ID help, promote volunteer opportunities and events, and discuss anything bird-related. This group will go beyond RBA groups and allow for more interaction within the birding community. The group is open to join and feel free to share it with other birders you know that may not be on Tweeters or Facebook.
I feel that this will be a great way for everyone with a passion for birds to get in touch. WhatsApp is free, has end-to-end encrypted messages, and I find it to be pretty user friendly.
