I can probably top most of you. I live in a retirement community on the
shore of Lake Washington, and when I glanced out the window this morning, at
the delta of the Cedar River, I spotted some white birds that looked like
they might not be just the usual gulls. I grabbed my scope and checked them
out. It was a pair of young Snow Geese, molting into adult plumage, and
they were accompanied by three Cackling Geese. A great start to 2023
birding.
