For some time now, we have had an odd duck at Lake Lorene/Treasure Island
Park here in Twin Lakes, Federal Way. On first look it appears to be a
drake Mallard, but when looked at with binoculars, the fine checkered sides
and belly become noticeable. Also the head is green, except for some
interesting facial markings, somewhat like a Baikal Teal. Overall it appear
to be a Mallard/Gadwall hybrid except for these facial markings.
