I'll give another recommendation for the book: A Most Remarkable Creature: The Hidden Life ande Epic Journey of the World’s Smartest Birds of Prey by Jonathan Meiburg. It's very well done and gives a lot of interesting history or both the birds and the lands.

I got the book after reading Ian's good review of it some time ago.
