Fall migration of turkey vultures was as spectacular as ever, especially at Woodland Bottoms. Vulture migration winds down pretty quickly as far as big numbers go, but a few keep straggling through and a few more winter in isolated/protected places. Please mention if you see any wintering vultures; it seems most turkey vultures are spotted along the coastline. Thanks, as always, to everyone for the great reports.

30 -- 446 turkey vultures at the north end of Woodland Bottoms, Cowlitz County.

04 -- Two turkey vultures at Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually NWR, Thurston, 0734-1719.

04 -- 702 over Vancouver Lowlands, Clark County (observed by Cindy McCormack).

06 -- One circling over dead trees a bit to the north of the Whitehorse Trailhead, Oso (48.2709397,-121.9492674).

08 -- One turkey vulture thermalling southward over west Yakima near Johnson Orchards at noon.

11 -- Two seen from the parking lot at Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually NWR, Thurston, intermittent rain, temp in the 50-60s.

12 -- Three turkey vultures flew southbound through Edmonds, stopping for a rest in a cedar before moving on.

13 -- A lone and late turkey vulture perched in a leafless tree on Prospect Way, north of Yakima. One or two others seen earlier in the area.

17 -- A kettle of 28 turkey vultures headed south; that's the largest group seen to go through Chehalis.
