Two Franklin's Gulls on the big sandbar at the Cedar River Delta at 11 am
today, Saturday Sept. 9. Looks like they may be planning to winter here -
if the airport noisemakers don't eventually drive them away. There were
very few gulls on the delta last winter, probably partly because of the
efforts of the noisemakers - gunshots and smoke canisters.
