Marcy, I can't find reference to any natural-born pigeon with a forked
tail, so I'm going with escaped show pigeon. A leisurely stroll through
pigeon-breeders' catalogs will show two things: first, there's no telling
what features you'll see on show birds; second, you'll observe at first
hand how elastic can be the standards of beauty.
