We don't have vulture-filled skies here during the winter months. This report is from last November through January, 2024, and covers Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. Many sightings were taken from e-bird, many had photos. Of the reports I looked through the majority were sightings of just one bird. Turkey vultures slowly start heading north in February so will wait 'til then for local reports ihave now.

Thanks for reports sent in and keep an eye skyward for early migrants.

15 -- One turkey vulture at UBNA - Montlake Fill

18 -- 2 at Grays Harbor.

22 -- 6 at Johnson Pond, Coos County, Oregon, individually counted- roosting in trees on north end of pond, overwinter here.

24 -- One at Puget Island.

04 -- 3 at Ferry Landing, Wahkiakum County

14 -- One at Powell River, B.C., preening in the top of a tree.

16 -- 2 at the Squamish Golf Course, B.C.

18 -- A Turkey Vulture soared through the middle of the Sequim-Dungeness Christmas Count circle, reported by no less than four different field parties. Weather was mild, from 39-51 degrees, no rain; one south of Woodcock, Clallam County (same date, same bird?).

28 -- 3 at Arago, Coos County,Oregon.

29 -- One at Manley Creek Regional Park, B.C.

30 -- One at Bay Ocean Spit, Tillamook, Oregon.

05 -- One at Lopez Island, Barlow Bay.

06 -- One at Nanaimo, B.C. (Buttertubs Marsh).

28 -- One at Smith Rock State Park, Deschutz County, Oregon.
