In the late afternoon on 5/28/24 I saw a Sandhill Crane off the Lewis and Clark Trail Highway (401) standing by the roadhouse that did not look healthy. Several minutes driving time from there I saw a murmurating flock of wading birds over a clearcut. They had long necks and were all white except for their outer wings which were black. There were, I would guess, between 30 and 50 of them. I am sure of this.
