I've just discovered that I'll likely have a day or two to go birding in the vicinity of New Orleans in mid-April. I've never been birding in that part of the Gulf Coast, so this is really exciting.

I'd love to get your recommendations for places to bird, for excellent guides, and for places to stay that are convenient for great birding. We'll be in NOLA for a wedding just beforehand, but can rent a car and stay elsewhere afterwards for birding purposes.
